Am I the only one who seldom posts on blogs anymore because for so many you have to type two hard to read "words"? Sometimes it is simple and obvious, but some are just terrible. I tried 3 times the other day on one blog and finally gave up.
I guess I better check my own settings...
Let me know what you think.

Those word verifications can sure get on your nerves.
ReplyDeleteI don't like the word verifications. I've had it turned off my blogs forever and have never once gotten spam. Oh, wait. Maybe once, but I just deleted it. Wasn't a big deal.
ReplyDeleteNow if I could only do a better job updating my blog now and then, LOL
I took off the word protection (which I find annoying), had a terrible time with spam, put it back on. Then someone suggested to go into the settings and to not accept anonymous comments. And now no spam (and no word protection)--works like a charm.
ReplyDeletebest, nadia
I don't like them either. If I really want to comment I'll try the verification, but after the 1st or second unsuccessful try I give up.
ReplyDeleteI tend to use my phone a lot for the net and hate when the verification contains numbers too! Sometimes they are so fuzzy and tiny, I give up after two tries.
ReplyDeleteSince I wrote this I have been spammed! Fortunately they came after the deadline for automatic posting. I think I will just switch to looking at all posts before posting them, and try that rather than putting in the complicated codes.
ReplyDeleteyes, it's annoying! I took it off my blog too fo rthat reason. I just check for spam ever so often.
ReplyDeleteI think I gave up and put the code in. Or did I?
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I wish they had a less complicated one.
Kathy
I'm not sure if mine is turned on or not?
ReplyDeleteDo you know kathy?

If it is how do you turn it off???
Hi kathy thank you for getting back to me, I have turned off the word verification but I still moderate the comments so I can't get spammed, I have to say yes to what anyone posts which is good :) you just click always moderate and no to word verification :)
